A brief Assessment and Certification Process (ACP): SIVET

The assessment process seeks to determine whether the graduate or worker can perform to the standards expected in the workplace based on the defined competency standards. Certification is provided to those who meets the competency standards. This ensures the productivity, quality and global competitiveness of the middle-level workers.

The Siya Institute of Vocational Education and Training pursues the assessment and certification of the competencies of trainees through its assessment and evaluation policies that are aligned to the Namibian TVET competency assessment and certification systems.

The Assessment and Certification Office (ACO) is responsible for the coordination of the Institutional and National Assessment and Certification Processes for TVET System by engaging industry experts.

This mandate is inclusive of both the Competency-Based Assessment (CBA) and the National Trade Testing & Certification (NTTC) Systems, of which Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) is mutually inclusive.
